cheetah

hoody - primark, top - h&m, leather shorts - jumble sale/ diy, shoes - asos, belt - charity shop

This is an outfit I wore last weekend to cheer my roller derby team on (we won by over 100 points YES!) I picked up a pair of real leather trousers at a jumble sale recently for 25p (!!). They were too big for me on the legs so I just cut them into shorts - still a bit big round the waist but nothing a belt doesn't fix! If you enjoy hunting through piles of clothes, jumble sales are the place to go! Most of the ones I visit are something like 25p an item. I even went to one yesterday where items were 20p for a large item and 10p for a small one. £1.20 well spent on eight items of clothing. Crazy cheap!

I don't think this is written very well because I have a massive headache from slamming into a wall and then into a door when I was rollerskating today. One day I will learn to write a blog post before three hours of contact sport. Sleep time now.

houndstooth

hat, earrings - primark, cropped turtleneck - ebay, skirt, backpack - charity shop, shoes - vagabond via urban outfitters, oscar the kitten - he was found under an oven (true story) (don't ask i don't know)

Hello! I've been a bit MIA on the blog front recently (I just checked and it's been nearly a month since I last posted!) What with new job, finding out I may have to move house, blah blah etc etc but at least now it's light when I get home from work I should be able to take more photos!

I wore this outfit yesterday to do some shopping in Milton Keynes, go for some drinks and watch the Alice in Wonderland ballet. I have never seen a ballet before and I don't think I will watch one again. Not that it was terrible or anything, just not my kind of thing. I don't think I would have understood the story if I didn't already know it. Trippy.

Oscar is well on trend at the moment with his monochrome fur. He was trying to stick his head in all my photos so I got him involved.

floral bomber and shiny trousers

silver trousers, floral bomber jacket - h&m, hoody, hat - primark, black t-shirt - dunno it's just a black t-shirt innit, shoes - vagabond

I'm not wearing a single thrifted item in this outfit. A RARE OCCURENCE. Although I did actually wear a thrifted backpack with it (I somehow never remember to include bags?) and I did go charity shopping in it.

I got these shoes from Vagabond after making some pennies on eBay  They're SO comfy and great for a bit of extra height in the day time. Not that I really need extra height, I'm taller than everyone I know anyway. Also they made me so tall that I cut the top of my head out of the first photo. What I'm trying to say is that I love them and I don't want to ever take them off my feet. EVER.

I'm going to be honest though that's a ridiculous statement because I am currently in bed and not wearing them. I also didn't wear them rollerskating because that would have been impractical. They don't have wheels.

floral trousers

trousers, necklace, earrings - primark, top - jumble sale, boots - h&m, coat - vintage

I spotted these trousers on Meg's blog a few weeks ago and headed straight to Primark to seek them out for myself. I've been living in trousers recently so these were a happy addition to my wardrobe. They were my first high street clothing buy after finishing my year of thrifting way back in September, so it pretty much turned into a year and a half in the end. Not bad going for something that was originally a month long challenge!

I wore this outfit for a night out but I'm hoping I'll be able to style these trousers for day to day office wear too. I got a new job which I start after Easter - my style won't have to change much day to day but it's an academic position which means I will have to do some teaching so smart clothing will be essential at some point. What do you think - are patterned trousers smart?

tartan jacket and gold buttons

tartan jacket, velvet burgundy shirt, topshop jeans - charity shop, hat - primark, gold creepers - new look

I think everyone's partial to a bit of tartan this season, and I've been on the hunt for a tartan jacket for a few months now. I can't count how many times I've seen a tartan sleeve sticking out of a clothes rail before rushing over and realising that, once again, it wasn't my size. So I was overjoyed to find this one on Thursday for just £4 at Emmaus

This weekend I've mostly been watching Parks and Recreation (I started watching it yesterday and I'm already at the end of Season 2), reading We Need To Talk About Kevin and drinking a bit of wine after a road trip to Banbury for a friend's birthday. What have you been up to?

floral shirt and gold creepers

camo jacket, necklace - charity shop, hat - oxfam, floral shirt - h&m, purple turtleneck - ebay, riding pants - american apparel, gold creepers - new look

If I didn't like this cropped turtleneck so much, I would definitely have regretted wearing it. My tummy was freezing! So I made up for it by wearing a jacket and a coat. My tummy was still freezing. I wore this on Saturday to go to a jumble sale. I got four items of clothing and a bag for £1. I swear jumble sales are getting cheaper and cheaper!

I dyed my hair red last week because I was suffering from hair boredom. I'm trying to grow out my fringe now as well as the rest of my hair and I felt the need for a bit of a change. I've been told that red hair means no burgundy but that's not going to happen. Half of my wardrobe is burgundy.

turtleneck and cat bag

skirt, bag, turtleneck - ebay, hat - oxfam, boots - h&m

After spotting this cat bag on Hollie's blog I had to order it. How cute is it? Speaking of cats, I'm keeping this post short because there's currently a kitten asleep on my left arm so I'm typing with one hand.

Hope you're all well!
